Hi Hytaler,
It's been quiet in here since June, and part of that was on us. Here's what happened and what changed.
For a good chunk of the year our confirmation emails simply never left the server. The mail setup behind the forum had a certificate quietly expire, and every "confirm your account" mail failed without anyone noticing. So if you signed up and never got that email: that wasn't you.
That's fixed now. Everyone who was stuck waiting on a confirmation mail has been activated and should have a note in their inbox. If you're one of them, just log in. If you forgot your password, the reset works again too.
We also cleared out a pile of spam accounts that slipped in while the captcha wasn't doing its job. New signups now get a small Hytale question instead. If you know the game, it takes two seconds. Bots don't.
When we launched we built a forum for everything we could imagine people talking about: fan art, forum games, map making, three separate "Guides" sections, and more. With the community the size it is right now, that mostly meant a lot of empty rooms, and new threads got lost between them.
So we cut it down from 30 forums to 11:
Nothing got deleted. Every thread moved into the section where it fits, so old links still work. The idea is simple: fewer places to look, more activity in each one. As the community grows we'll split sections back out where it actually makes sense. If a topic starts taking over a forum, it gets its own.
The game hasn't been standing still either. Update 6 brought Spectator mode, Hardcore and the in-game Mod Browser, and the Update 7 pre-release with runes, goblins and new gear is running right now. I've brought the Patch Tracker up to date and there are fresh guides for server owners and modders going up alongside this post.
If you run a server, build mods or just play: post. Questions, builds, half-finished plugins, server ideas, all welcome. And if something about the new layout bugs you, tell us in Suggestions & Feedback.
See you in the threads.

Signups were broken (sorry)
