Heyho!

I got tired of waiting for someone to build a decent server panel for Hytale, so I built one. It's called TalePanel, it's open source, and after a few months of grinding it's finally in a state where I'm not embarrassed to
show it.

Now I need people to break it before everyone else gets their hands on it.

What it actually does

  • Spins up Hytale servers with one click — installer handles everything
  • Real-time console you can actually type into (op, kick, world save, teleport, the works)
  • Live CPU/RAM/disk graphs that don't lag
  • Manages multiple nodes from one panel — host servers across different machines
  • Built-in file manager so you don't need to SSH for every config tweak
  • User accounts with roles + 2FA, because we're not animals
  • All three Hytale auth modes (AUTHENTICATED, OFFLINE, INSECURE)
  • Web panel, desktop app, mobile app — same panel, three skins

What it looks like

Dark, clean, no clown-fiesta gradients. I went with a deep navy "command center" vibe — Manrope font, glassmorphism cards, Material icons. Looks like something you'd actually want to leave open in a tab.

The stack (skip if you don't care)

Go API + Rust daemon for the heavy lifting, Nuxt 3 for the panel, Postgres + Redis underneath, all dockerized. Daemon is per-node so you can scale horizontally without it falling over.

Why I need testers

I've been daily-driving this on my own server for weeks, which means I've already trained myself to avoid the bugs. I need fresh eyes — people who'll click the wrong button, paste weird stuff into the console, run it on
hardware I haven't tried, and then tell me when it explodes.

You're a good fit if:

  • []You've used Pterodactyl, Pelican, or similar before
[]You're planning to spin up a Hytale server when beta drops anyway
  • You're okay with "this is rough around the edges" and want to influence what gets fixed first

In return: early access, direct line to me for feedback, and your name in the credits if you find something good.

The boring legal bit

AGPL-3.0. Free forever. Commercial license available if you need to keep your modifications private.

Quick update for everyone who's been testing: TalePanel finally has its own home at talepanel.com.

What's there:

  • A proper overview of what it does, with screenshots of the dashboard, server view and nodes
  • A getting started guide that walks you through a first Hytale server from zero: talepanel.com/docs
  • The one-line installer for a fresh Debian or Ubuntu box

Source, install reference and changelog are on GitHub. If something breaks, an issue helps me most, with your OS and what you clicked right before it went sideways.

For quick questions there's the TalePanel Discord, or just reply here.

Heads-up: a major update is landing in the next few days. I'll post the full changelog in this thread when it's out, so follow the thread if you want the ping. If you're running an older build, that's the moment to update.

Still beta, still free, still AGPL. Thanks to everyone who's been breaking it so far.

Hi Hytaler,

the update I talked about is out. TalePanel 0.10.0-beta landed on 21.10., and 0.10.1-beta today with a small installer fix.

Install in one command

On a fresh Linux VPS (Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+ or Rocky/RHEL 9+):

Code:
sudo bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BitaceS/talepanel/main/scripts/install.sh) --quick

It asks nothing, sets up HTTPS, and gives you a link plus a one-time code. Open the link, create your admin account in the browser, create a Hytale server, press Start. You don't need a domain. There is no default account anymore. The panel itself is fine with 1 CPU and 2 GB RAM, Hytale needs more.

What's new in 0.10

  • Works with Hytale Update 6, tested against HytaleServer 0.6.8
  • Hytale account link: log in once, servers start authenticated. No more /auth login on every start
  • Launch flags in the panel (--accept-early-plugins, --allow-op, --disable-sentry)
  • RAM limit can be changed in the panel
  • Pick Release or Pre-release when you create a server, no more typing version numbers
  • Network mod: /play <gamemode> on a hub sends players to your other servers
  • Whitelist, kick, give and weather commands fixed for Update 6
  • A big security pass over API, daemon, web panel and installer. The full list is long, it's in the changelog

0.10.1

The installer broke because MinIO pulled its images from Docker Hub. TalePanel never used MinIO, so it's gone now. If your install failed in the last days, just run it again.

Still beta

Things that are not there yet: console and logs poll instead of live streaming, backups stay on the same node (no off-site copy), and servers on one node are not isolated from each other. Keep that in mind before you put something important on it.
